Behemoth - At The Left Hand Ov God

Labels: , , ,

This album is epic as fuck and doesn't relent in brutality. It is simply amazing. The song structures are varied but maintain a constant theme. I found this to be a lot better than Demigod in production quality of various aspects in that every single word of the album was not overlaid which adds to the effect. Overlaying is supposed to be used for emphasis which it was in this album. It also has a clearer sound than on Demigod.

This album contains music that spans metal from epic masterpieces such as "At the Left Hand ov God" and "Inner Sanctum" all the way to thrash-like songs such as "Prometherion" and "Kriegsphilosophie".

This album is about the rejection of beliefs which is an excellent theme. It draws the audience in by giving a sense of rebellion to them which is in human nature and then it pummels them with insane riffing and blast beats that leave them only wanting more.

The album opens up with a female vocalization and then slams head-on into a few epic chords that set you up to be pulverized by "Slaying the Prophets of Isa". It goes down through the tracks and slowly draws more and more toward and epic and less thrash-like mood and then cuts out with the same female vocalization as before to tie the entire masterpiece together into one epic album.

Behemoth has outdone themselves with "The Apostasy". I only hope they can keep this up for their next album. Your Ad Here

Behemoth - Chant for Eschaton 2000

Labels: , , , ,

Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground[citation needed], alongside bands such as Vader, Decapitated, Vesania and Hate.

Until the late 1990s, the band played traditional black metal with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band showed their presence in the blackened death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Nile-style Middle-Eastern influences. Even though Behemoth has been labeled as death metal, black metal or thrash influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he doesn't like the band to be labeled Your Ad Here

Immortal - Live in Corona (2000)

Labels: , , ,

Immortal's early years go as far when they started as a black/death metal band Old Funeral in 1988, releasing two demos until 1990. The band's frontman Abbath also formed a band Amputation, in 1989, releasing two demos also, until deciding to form Immortal. [1] The band consisted of band members who departed from Amputation and Old Funeral, though remaining members of Old Funeral attempted to keep the band alive, though eventually dissolved before Immortal's first demo releases.

Immortal's early full-length releases were of a traditional black metal style, but their acclaimed album At the Heart of Winter saw the band begin to experiment with a complex fusion of black metal and German thrash metal. The resulting sound was a style which characterized Immortal's later works. Immortal has been influential to many modern metal artists. It has arguably maintained the most occult-mysticism image and way of life traditionally credited to black metal although the band is not Satanic, unlike several black metal bands who may leave it open to discussion or admit to being Satanic. DIMMU BORGIR - The Chosen Legacy

Labels: , , , ,

"The Chosen Legacy", the new video from Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR, can be viewed below. Directed by Tod Junker, produced by Ramzi Abed, along with the visual image filtering of Joachim Luetke, the clip is the third video made in support of the band's latest album, "In Sorte Diaboli". It is also included on the band's upcoming 2DVD+CD release "The Invaluable Darkness", which is due on October 10 (Europe) and October 14 (North America) via Nuclear Blast.

Due to a recent addition to his family, DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Galder (real name: Thomas Rune Andersen) will not be able to join his bandmates on the Blackest Of The Black tour alongside headliners DANZIG.

States DIMMU guitarist Silenoz (real name: Sven Atle Kopperud): "We have some new, temporary personnel on this tour. We needed an experienced live guitarist and found him in an old friend of mine and Galder: Cyrus of SUSPERIA. We're happy he can step in and don't plan on giving him a hard time on the road."

Drumming duties on the Blackest Of The Black tour will be handled by drummer Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski (ex-VADER). According to Silenoz, fans can perhaps expect a few surprises when it comes to the setlist. Your Ad Here

"The first documentary about MAYHEM, 'Cult of Aggression', was about their history — mainly about their music, but, of course, if a band has such a bloody history as MAYHEM, you can't [leave] that out of the documentary," Rydehed previously told BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

"'Cult of Aggression' was mainly with Manheim and Necro Butcher but had a few parts about Dead when I used a voice-over and some folks who lived in Kråkstad when the band had their rehersal/livingplace there," Rydehed added Your Ad Here

This short EP sold out within weeks, and the band followed up with the 1994 full length album For all tid. This album featured musical contributions by members of Dødheimsgard and Ved Buens Ende. The initial lineup consisted of Shagrath playing guitar with Tjodalv on drums and Silenoz backing vocals, however this changed before the release of Stormblåst (translates to "Storm Blown") on Cacophonous Records in 1996. Stormblåst received high praise from many melodic black metal fans, and is often regarded as a highlight of the band's career. Satan Rides the Media (Satan Rir Media)

Labels: , , ,

Satan rir media (Satan Rides the Media) is a 1998 Norwegian documentary by Torstein Grude. The film covers the controversy that surrounded black metal musician Varg Vikernes in the early 1990s, who not only has been tied to a series of church arsons in Norway, but received widespread media attention for the admitted murder of Mayhem band member Øystein Aarseth.

According to Satan rir media, two (unnamed) trainee journalists had approached the Bergens Tidende (BT), a major Norwegian newspaper, with a story they had done with Vikernes. This story mentioned the torching of churches; journalist Finn Bjørn Tønder, who had previously reported about a dead animal that had been found on the steps of the Fantoft stave church after the fire, became curious. He persuaded the two to show him the man and eventually met Vikernes, describing him in the documentary as the "weirdest person I think I have ever met in my life".

The journalists explained to Vikernes that if he "intended the things he had said to be PR for his music", they "would have to be able to check the information against the police evidence and any other background". Vikernes told them he was a Satanist and that Satanists were behind the arsons and a murder at Lillehammer involving another black metal musician. He also told them about a hare that had been decapitated at the Fantoft stave church. Tønder later confirmed the details Vikernes had given him with the forensics at Haukeland Hospital and the police by telephone. According to Bjørn Tønder, he later found out that his queries had apparently stirred up the police, who wondered where this information was coming from. This is affirmed by the Bergen police officer Svein E. Krogvold. According to Krogvold, the police were already closing in on Vikernes but did not have enough evidence to make an arrest. When they heard that the BT was to run a story on this, they made the arrest anyway. It would be embarrassing if the police seemed without an idea while this story was on the front page. Vikernes was arrested the same night.

While Tønder insists in the documentary that he had protected his source, Vikernes (who was also interviewed) was convinced that Tønder "must have given them the address for the arrest". The documentary also shows briefly how the Norwegian media hyped the Satanist angle and arguably inspired copycat arsons.

It is interesting to note that in the segment where Vikernes is talking about the murder of Aarseth, the scene fades out just as he is about to explain his side of what happenened in the apartment; that it was in self-defence, leaving the viewer to assume that it was a pre-meditated murder motivated by an afformentioned, and arguably fictitious, power struggle between the two in the black metal scene. A full account of the incident is provided by Vikernes on his band, Burzum's website. Your Ad Here

Belphegor - Live in Holland 2007

Labels: , , , ,

Belphegor was formed in 1993, originally under the name Betrayer. After the release of their first demo, "Bloodbath in Paradise" the band became popular in the underground metal scene. Their first album The Last Supper was released by Lethal Records, the two following ones by Last Episode (now known as Black Attakk) which they called a "rip-off label" afterwards. After releasing their live album Infernal Live Orgasm on their own label Phallelujah Productions, they signed with Napalm Records. In 2003, they released Lucifer Incestus, their fourth full-length album. However, their relationship with Napalm Records did not last, as they said afterwards that the label didn’t support them enough and they were "fed up with this respectless treatment". The band is currently signed with Nuclear Blast and has released two albums to date with them, Pestapokalypse VI and Bondage Goat Zombie.

In February-March 2007 the band toured North America with Unleashed, Krisiun and Hatesphere, and played at the famous Wacken Open Air festival in August. In January, founding member Sigurd underwent eye surgery, and has been unable to play since. On April 15th, they released Bondage Goat Zombie, and will tour Europe with Grave and supporting Nile. For a long time, it was not known whether Sigurd would be able to play or not, having reportedly undergone eye surgery at the beginning of 2008. However, Helmuth said that Sigurd had chosen to leave the band permanently. He was replaced with another guitarist, Morluch, who is currently listed on the band's MySpace page. Your Ad Here

Immortal - Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark

Labels: , ,

Blashyrkh is a fictional kingdom heavily featured in the lyrics of black metal band Immortal. According to the band's singer and guitarist Abbath, this frozen kingdom was created by the hatred of both himself and Demonaz. It is ruled by a giant raven god called the "Mighty Ravendark". On the album Battles in the North, in the eponymous song, he is referred to as "the Oath of Frost, who sits on the elder raventhrone," and as "the rightful king of the highest halls."

Blashyrkh is eternally covered with frost, snow and winter, as can be learned from the album "At the Heart of Winter":

Blashyrkh mighty be your name victorious a kingdom we made
with strength and pride all the way you are at the heart of winter

The statue watches the kingdom your giant wings make all beneath
I'm staring forth the raventhrone I know I'm at the heart of winter Your Ad Here

Behemoth (Inferno Festival 2002)

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Behemoth is an influential Polish blackened death metal band. They are considered to have played one of the most important roles in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground, alongside Graveland and Sacrilegium. Until early 2000s, the band played rather classical black metal with a heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist, Nergal.

This coincided with an increase in musical craftsmanship that allowed them to expand out of the black metal underground and garnered them with some international recognition. With the 2004 release of Demigod, they had fully embraced brutal technical death metal, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the staggering drumwork of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Nile-style middle-eastern influence. Their transition from black to death metal has made them "traitors" in the eyes of some fans, but they have become darlings of the modern death metal scene, often mentioned alongside other rising stars such as Nile (whom they have collaborated and toured with). Absu - Live In Bad Worrtschofen (01-05-1995)

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Absu is a black metal/thrash metal band from Plano, Texas, USA. Their early work leaned towards a death metal sound, but more recently they have incorporated a black and thrash metal sound with some celtic and folk music (which they call "Mythological Occult Metal"). Their lyrical themes are esoteric, ranging from Celtic myths and legends, Sumerian myths and legends, magic, weaponry, and sorcery.

Biography
Absu was formed in 1991 by Equitant Ifernain (Guitars, Bass, Lyrics) and Shaftiel (Guitars, Vocals). Shortly after that, they were joined by Proscriptor McGovern (Drums, Vocals, Lyrics), David Athron Mystica (Guitars), and Black Massith (Keyboards, Synth, Sequencing). The self-proclaimed "Mythological Occult Metal" has maintained a steady following in the extreme metal underground for a number of years now. After releasing their first album 'Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L.' in 1993, Absu narrowed their line up to a three piece when David Athron Mystica and Black Massith left. For live performances, they recruited the help of Mezzadurus (from Philadelphia Black Thrashers, Bloodstorm) and recorded as a three piece with Shaftiel and Proscriptor sharing vocal duties and Proscriptor taking over keyboard and synth duties as well. The band stayed with this line up for some time.

In 2001, Absu recruited a new second guitarist, Kashshapxu. This was short lived as soon after that, Equitant left due to musical differences (however, he and Proscriptor still collaborate on other projects to this day). Shortly after that, Proscriptor severely injured his hand in an accident, which required surgery to repair his hand. After almost a year of healing and therapy, he was ready to play again but Shaftiel no longer had any interest in Absu and Kashshapxu had also left the band due to musical differences. Proscriptor then put Absu on hold and decided to work on other projects. During this period he auditioned for Slayer but Slayer eventually went with their original drummer Dave Lombardo. In 2005, Proscriptor and Equitant put together a collection of rare, live and unreleased Absu recordings and released it under the title 'Mythological Occult Metal: 1991-2001'.

With Absu still on hold, Proscriptor continues to work on other projects including Equimanthorn (with Equitant and members of The Soil Bleeds Black, dark ambient music), Proscriptor (his own project of neo-folk/classic rock fused music), and Starchaser Network (with Equitant and Victorious; electronic art/rock band). Additionally, he was the drummer/vocalist for Melechesh for six years (1999-2005; although still contributes lyrics and vocals) and has done session work with Judas Iscariot, Thornspawn, and Magnus Thorsen. Proscriptor also has his own record label, Tarot Productions.

In December 2006, Proscriptor announced that the new line up for Absu would be revealed sometime in 2007 as well as the re-release of Absu's first three albums on picture disc vinyl and a new live EP which were released on January 15th, 2007. In May 2007, Prosciptor finally announced the addition of Vastator Terrarum and Aethyris MacKay to the band as well as a split EP release with Demonical. Absu plan to begin recording in the latter part of 2007 (or early 2008) and plan to release their fifth full length album (simply titled Absu) in June 2008 through Osmose Productions/The End Records. Mayhem - NYC, NY 6/10/01

Labels: , , , , ,

Mayhem (often called 'The True Mayhem') is a black metal band, formed in 1984[1] in Oslo, Norway. The band name is taken from the Venom song, Mayhem with Mercy.[2] Much controversy has followed the various murders, suicides and other forms of violence that surrounded the band in the early years. Mayhem is considered one of the most controversial bands in modern musical history, especially due to the vast number of urban legends and myths surrounding their early years, and the controversies have often overshadowed the music, especially in recent years due in part to the Internet and magazine articles.

Over time Mayhem has evolved through a variety of black metal styles, delving at times into areas of dark avant-garde industrial and electronica. Highly influential, the group is widely considered to be one of the cornerstones of the black metal movement

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon Tour (Live In Amsterdam)

Labels: , , , , , ,

Dimmu Borgir was originally founded as a melodic black metal band in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv. The band released an EP in 1994 entitled Inn I Evighetens Mørke (in English:"Into The Darkness of Eternity"). This short EP sold out within weeks, and the band followed up with the 1994 full length album For All Tid. This album featured musical contributions by members of Dødheimsgard and Ved Buens Ende. Interestingly enough, Shagrath played drums with Tjodalv on guitar and Erkekjetter (translating "arch heretic") Silenoz covering vocals. This lineup changed before the release of Stormblåst (translates to "Storm Blown") on Cacophonous Records in 1996. Stormblåst received high praise from many melodic black metal fans, and is often regarded as a highlight of the band's career. It is also the last album which features all lyrics written and sung in Norwegian.

After Stormblåst, Dimmu Borgir's career took a sharp turn. Keyboardist Stian Aarstad left the band due to his obligation to serve in the Norwegian army, thus he was not able to participate in the 1996 recording of Devil's Path. That period was also marked by the leave of their bassist Brynjard Tristan and the arrival of Nagash. Stian Aarstad returned for the recording of 1997's Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. On the tour to support the album he had trouble attending rehearsals and tour dates, and he was fired from the band. Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was a huge success for the band, and it was their first release signed to the famous German record label Nuclear Blast. It was recorded in the Abyss Studios, owned by Hypocrisy's mainman Peter Tägtgren.

After the tour for Enthrone Darkness Triumphant the band recruited new members Mustis on keyboards and Astennu on second guitar so that Shagrath could concentrate on vocals.

Dimmu Borgir's following full-length albums Spiritual Black Dimensions in 1999, the first album with clean vocals from Vortex and the last album with Nagash, and 2001's Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia both met critical acclaim. Some fans accused the band of "selling out" due to the mass audiences which the albums reached.

Despite regular video play on MTV2 and Fuse TV that their follow-up album would receive, the band has stated that they are not "commercially-oriented," and instead, they simply wish to spread their message to more people. In 2003, Dimmu Borgir used their major record label financial leverage to create a monumental album titled Death Cult Armageddon. Sections of the album were recorded with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra to enhance the classical arrangements which have always augmented the band's style.

In 2005, the band did a complete re-recording of the Stormblåst album, featuring Hellhammer of Mayhem fame as the session drummer.

Dimmu Borgir's new album, In Sorte Diaboli, was released April 24, 2007. There will also be a special edition version of the album in a boxed case with DVD, with backwards lyrics and a mirror included. The album artwork was released on February 14, 2007 on a promotional webpage for the album [1]. With the release of this album, Dimmu Borgir became the first black metal band with a number one album on the top list. [2]

Currently, the band is in the middle of the Invaluable Darkness Tour with Unearth, Devildriver, and Kataklysm. Dimmu Borgir played the 2007 Download Festival on June 10 and W:O:A 2007 Fastival in Germany Your Ad Here

Belphegor some videos

Labels: , , , , , , ,

I'm looking for decent live recordings of Belphegor. If you got some just let me know on the cbox or mail me.

Belphegor is an Austrian blackened death metal band named after the demon Belphegor (originally Baal-Peor) and formed in 1993.

Biography

1993: The now legendary demo on Maxi Cd format, BLOODBATH IN PARADISE, is circulated within the underground and earns BELPHEGOR the reputation of an unrepentant, blasting war machine.

1995: The first studio album, THE LAST SUPPER, is released on Lethal Records and is a welcomed collection of infernal hymns for their growing fan base. Following their own path of sin and befitting their ever-evolving anti-religious, anti-life attitude, BELPHEGOR’s logo gets revamped to incorporate two inverted crosses completely surrounded by blood representing the slaughter of Christians and martyrs.

1997: Last Episode Records releases BLUTSABBATH. BELPHEGOR’s sinister reputation continues to gain momentum.

2000: Stagnation means death! The band spreads their disease once again via NECRODAEMON TERRORSATHAN, logging yet another volume of blasphemy added to The Vatican Library.

2002: BELPHEGOR celebrates their 10th anniversary by capturing a live set with songs played even faster than their original studio recordings on INFERNAL LIVE ORGASM (released on their own label, Phallelujah Productions).

2003: Produced by Alex Krull at Mastersound Studios, BELPHEGOR cram their high-speed murderous brutality into the 8-track release of LUCIFER INCESTUS, and then tour throughout Europe.

2005: The band opts to once again to work with Krull at Mastersound to create the morbid GOATREICH - FLESHCULT for Napalm Rec., and later touring Europe with the infamous X-Mass Festival. “We don’t give a fuck about anything and don’t let anyone talk us into doing anything. Only the music counts!”

In February-March 2007 the band will tour North America with Unleashed, Krisiun and Hatesphere, and will play at the famous Wacken Open Air festival in August.

Gorgoroth - Live In Laberinto 2004

Labels: , , , , , ,

Gorgoroth was founded in Norway by Hat (vocals), Goat (drums) and Infernus (guitars) in 1992. The name Gorgoroth is taken form the book Lord of The Rings, Gorgoroth is a dark and lifeless field where evil grows. In 1993 Gorgoroth released their first demo called "A Sorcery Written In Blood", Kjettar joined in on bass for that demo, but left right after.

After the demo, Gorgoroth signed to Embassy Rec. where they also released their first album, "Pentagram" in 1994. Samoth of Emperor did the bass on Pentagram. After the the release of Pentagram, Goat and Samoth left the band.

In 1996 Gorgoroth signed to Malicious Rec. which re-released Pentagram, the same year Gorgoroth released their second album Antichrist. On that album, Pest of Obtained Enslavement did the vocals and Frost of Satyricon did the drums, while Infernus played bass and guitar, and Hat did some vocals on track 2, 3 and 6. Later that year, Gorgoroth also released the MCD "The Last Tormentor", on that album Grim (Immortal, Borknagar etc.) replaced Frost on the drums while Ares of Aeternus joined on the bass.

In 1997, Gorgoroth released their last album on Malicious Rec. It was called "Under The Sign Of Hell". The same year Gorgoroth and the rest of the BM scene suffered a great loss when Grim died after drug abuse.

Late 1997, Gorgoroth signed to Nuclear Blast, and the following year they released the full-length album "Destroyer". The line-up for this album consisted of Infernus on bass and guitar, Tormentor on guitar, Gaahl from Trelldom on vocals, Vrolok of Aeternus on drums, Ares on bass, and T.Reaper on bass. Also contributing on this album was Pest on vocals, Frost on drums and Daimonion with some synth. In 1998, Gorgoroth also participated on the Darkthrone tribute "Darkthrone Holy Darkthrone", Gorgoroth covered Slottet I Det Fjerne, which also is an unlisted track on Destroyer. Much of the material on this album was recorded many years earlier, like track 3., which was recorded in 1994.

In 2000, the BM scene was once again amazed by maybe the best release of Gorgoroth ever, "Incipit Satan" hit the stores early 2000, the line-up for this album was Infernus (guitar and vocals), Tormentor (guitar), Gaahl (vocals), Sjt. Erichsen (drums) and King of Hell on bass. In early 2000, Sjt. Erichsen was replaced by a new drummer named Kvitrafn (ex-Det Hedenske Folk).

In late April 2004 Gorgoroth parted ways with their label Nuclear Blast. In late January 2005 they signed a new deal with the Swedish label Regain Records.
